There's no better way to experience the Hunter than with a local behind the wheel and the whole day taken care of. Our small-group wine tours wind through the region's most characterful cellar doors, with tastings of boutique wines, craft beers and small-batch spirits, plus stops for local cheese and chocolate along the way. We pick you up from wherever you're staying — Pokolbin, Lovedale, Rothbury, Cessnock, Maitland, Lake Macquarie, Newcastle or the Central Coast — and bring you home again, so the only thing you need to organise is who's coming. It's a relaxed, genuinely social day out, and every tour is hosted by a Hunter Valley local who knows the region and loves sharing it.

What You Can Taste on Your Hunter Valley Wine Tour
Wineries
Sample boutique wines poured by the people who grow and make them, from the Hunter's signature Semillon and Shiraz to small-batch blends you won't find on a bottleshop shelf.
Breweries
Pull up at a local brewhouse for a paddle of craft beers and ciders, brewed on-site and best enjoyed with the valley's rolling vineyards as your backdrop.
Distilleries
Discover the region's medal-winning vodkas, gins and schnapps, including flavoured pours with shimmering edible glitter that are as fun to look at as they are to taste.
Cheese
Work your way through a tasting of handmade local cheeses, each one matched to the wines and beers you've been sampling along the way.
Chocolate
Treat yourself at a Hunter Valley chocolatier, where handcrafted truffles and treats prove some calories are absolutely worth it.
Cocktails
Sip a cocktail mixed with local spirits, the perfect way to raise the tempo when the mood calls for something a little livelier.
Whiskey
Nose and taste small-batch whiskey distilled right here in the valley, rich, warming and made for slow, unhurried appreciation.
Restaurants
Sit down to a relaxed long lunch at a local restaurant or brewhouse kitchen, where seasonal Hunter produce turns a simple meal into a highlight of the day.
Charcuterie
Graze on a board of cured local meats, artisan bread and regional accompaniments, the kind of shared plate that's made for good company and a glass in hand.

Your Day in the Hunter Valley
The Hunter Valley is one of Australia's oldest wine regions, famous for its Semillon, Shiraz, and Chardonnay, and home to over 150 cellar doors scattered across Pokolbin, Lovedale, Rothbury, and Cessnock. There's a lot to take in, and honestly, the best stuff isn't always the most obvious.
We've been running small-group wine tours through the Hunter for years, and our guides are all locals. They know which cellar doors are pouring something special this season, which cheese rooms are worth the stop, and where to sit down for a long lunch with a beer in hand. It's the kind of day you'd plan for yourself if you had a mate who lived here, except we've already done the planning.
What a day on tour actually looks like:

We pick you up from your accommodation, whether that's in Pokolbin, Lovedale, Rothbury, Cessnock, Newcastle, or the Central Coast, and from there your guide takes the wheel. You'll taste your way through three boutique cellar doors, try locally distilled gins, vodkas, and schnapps, graze on artisan cheese and chocolate, and stop for lunch at a local brewhouse.
Everyone gets to taste. Nobody has to drive. And you don't need to book a single thing. We've already sorted it.
What do guests say about our Hunter Valley Wine Tours?
Firstly and foremost I want to thank you for your help in organising our wine tour. Your communication has been impeccable and I could not thank you enough for all your information about the wineries, options for us to choose, your recommendations and just the ease of booking everything without an ounce of stress on my part. Our tour went without a hitch. All the girls loved it and it was everything we were all hoping for. I will absolutely be recommending your business to everyone that will listen! Our driver Jeff was fantastic so a massive thank you to him as well. I will definitely be booking again in the future, thank you again!
– Britt T
Just wanted to pass on that we had a fabulous time on our tour over the weekend! Grant was a blast! He was great value, made everyone feel comfortable, and had a wealth of knowledge. The Hunter Valley wineries we visited were lovely (Ernest Hill was our favourite) and a perfect spot for lunch. Really appreciate the extra service with the Newcastle drop-off and pick-up. We would absolutely come back again and will highly recommend to friends and family

I'm so happy I booked a wine tour with Tastes of the Hunter for my 30th birthday! Thanks to Suzanne, the whole booking process went smoothly, and it was so easy. Things couldn't have been better on the day. Our driver, Kevin, was very patient and made sure everyone was always fine. Everyone on the tour agreed that it was an amazing day. We can't wait to come back and do another tour with Tastes of the Hunter
